Comparison of static projection and dynamic video mapping

While projection mapping is primarily designed to create a static projection (such as a logo) on an immobile object (like a building), videomapping involves creating a 3D moving projection – a video. A key feature is that not only is the projection itself moving, but the object on which the projection is displayed can also be in motion. Therefore, the entire mapping must adapt to such changes.

Mapping Projected Video

A good example of using video mapping is during the unveiling of a new building, statue, or other architectural work. Initially, the projection is displayed on a curtain, and later on the building itself (which is further away and has various shapes). Similarly, without video mapping, it would be impossible to create projections on different moving stages that are part of the filming of television shows or festivals.
