Physical nature and principle of laser beam generation

A laser is a source of monochromatic coherent light that is produced by placing a light amplifier into an optical resonator tuned to a specific wavelength. The term laser is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Light amplification occurs through a process called stimulated emission. The first laser was created in 1960 by Theodore Maiman.

Laser has various uses

Lasers are also used as a form of decorative lighting, and due to their intensity, they can create fascinating patterns, such as on the night sky above the stage during summer festivals. There are different "colors" of lasers, which also vary in intensity. With a commonly available laser from a store, you can easily ignite materials like paper, which is why it’s important to follow safety guidelines when working with lasers. Lasers are also commonly used for cutting materials, such as various metals.
