Teleprompter
A teleprompter is a device used by speakers, presenters, or hosts, allowing them to read text while simultaneously looking at the audience or the camera. The teleprompter is often integrated into the lectern, projecting text onto a plexiglass screen in front of the speaker, similar to how the current speed is displayed on head-up displays in modern cars. An alternative to a teleprompter is a large LED screen placed behind the audience.
Device for Hosts
A special type of teleprompter is used for hosts, such as in television newsrooms. The lens of the television camera is positioned directly in the teleprompter display, or the teleprompter is part of the camera itself. This setup allows the host to read the text while simultaneously looking directly into the camera, maintaining continuous eye contact with the audience for the desired effect.
