  3. Projection mapping

Projection mapping is similar to video mapping and is a technique used to create a background layer from objects that are often irregularly shaped, have different surfaces, vary in distance from the projection device, and are illuminated by the projector from different angles. The goal of projection mapping is to create the illusion that, when viewed from a single point, these objects appear as a flat, ordinary canvas.

Projection on Buildings

When projecting onto buildings, the second alternative of projection mapping is often used. The goal of video projection is, for example, to create the illusion that something is moving in the windows of a building, or that the facade has a completely different color. Video projections on buildings are a popular artistic endeavor in many large cities, especially during various holidays, and are also used as a form of advertising.
