Footage processing in the post-production process

In filmmaking and any video production, "footage" refers to raw and unedited material (also known as raw footage). Typically, this video recording must be edited to create a film, music video, or similar completed audiovisual work. In English, you may also encounter the term "graphic footage," which literally means "graphic representation" without censorship, used for depicting scenes that may be inappropriate for sensitive audiences.

Found Footage

A widely recognized term is "found footage," which became a phenomenon in filmmaking two decades ago. This refers to films shot from the perspective of a primary participant, such as a cameraman recording a journey or a catastrophic event in their surroundings. The resulting film can draw viewers into the narrative much more intensely, making the entire work feel more like a real documentary capturing an actual event.
