At Hurricane – helping ones in need

The technologies we own and have stored in the warehouse may seem cold until their "awakening." Yes, a speaker, LED panel, camera, or lighting head stored on a shelf in the warehouse is just part of the equipment that is resting there. When used at any event, that is when the technician awakens it, and only then can it evoke an emotion in us.

And we humans are similar. Let’s think about it—when we sleep, we typically don’t express any emotions. But when we’re awake, we affect others in some way. We can have a stereotypical, successful day, or we might have a bad or sad day. All of this stems from our emotions, which we cannot erase from our lives. At Hurricane, we have a great team of people who think not only of themselves but also of others. We don’t want to be just those who do their job—create a project, prepare and load the equipment onto the truck, work at the event, and return the equipment to the warehouse in "sleep" mode. We strive to deepen our friendships and discuss various topics and stories that life creates.

CIVIC ASSOCIATION HELPING HAND

For several years, we have supported the civic association Helping Hand, which takes care of supporting families with children who have various health disabilities. Helping Hand secures funding for necessary treatments, rehabilitations, and other therapies needed to improve the health of these children. Every year, we participate in a beautiful event called the Helping Hand Ball. By providing equipment, purchasing tickets, or making other financial donations, we join the mosaic of other people who support this project, from which the entire proceeds go to these families.

LEAGUE FOR MENTAL HEALTH

We know that in many cases, physical disabilities and health issues can be very challenging. But there are also people who have no physical impairments. These are individuals whose souls suffer. They experience psychological strain, depression, a lack of will to live, and similar issues. There are situations when a person often reaches a state where they see no way out and need support from those closest to them. If such people are not nearby, it is not shameful to seek out an association that has a human face and helps people view their problems from a different perspective. One of these is the League for Mental Health, which has been helping to heal wounded souls for many years. We have been collaborating with LZDZ for several years, and every month in our New Level Studio, we record a new episode of the show. Each episode covers a new and very serious topic related to mental health, either for specific groups of people or for the general public.

HURRICANE COLLECTION

Our company and the people in it have decided to actively support other projects and help those in greatest need. During the time of the large migration associated with families fleeing the war in Ukraine, we pooled our resources and purchased non-perishable food, hygiene products, and clothing for children and women. It was challenging to sit down each day, whether at home or at work, in front of an LCD screen, listening to and seeing the horrors happening in our eastern neighbor and just watching passively. Therefore, without much thought or consultation, we initiated our Hurricane collection and handed it over to volunteers. They took the items to those who suddenly lost everything.

HOW MUCH LOVE FITS INTO A SHOEBOX

Helping all these groups of people is something we take for granted, as it has a positive, perhaps even healing effect on their lives. Therefore, we sincerely enjoy it. We also think of those who raised us and who often have no one close at their age. This is a generation that has gone through significant life changes. Last year, we filled several Christmas packages and contributed to the beautiful project "How Much Love Fits into a Shoebox." Any organization, company, school, or individuals can participate in this project and bring a smile to seniors in nursing homes or social facilities.

BLOOD DONATION

Donating blood is not something to be taken for granted, and often it comes down to fear of the unknown. We want to encourage people who have never donated blood to not be afraid. Our team had fears the first time as well, but it’s an amazing feeling to know that your blood might save someone's life in just a few hours. We strive to convince more colleagues and acquaintances to get involved and help save lives.

EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT SPŠE HÁLOVA IN BRATISLAVA

Last but not least, we decided that we want to educate. We aim to enrich the specific students at SPŠE Hálova in Bratislava with our experiences. Last year, we became an official educational partner of this school, and a colleague has completed his first school year as a lecturer. Additionally, students come to us for internships, allowing them to try out practical skills they have learned in school. We care about the direction these students take and what future awaits them. We believe that we will amplify our educational efforts and create a group of new enthusiasts who will become our colleagues in the future.

To conclude, I would end with a simple quote to ponder: "Helping others is not just a good deed, but also a source of happiness."

We believe that this blog will carry a positive message for any of you and that we can inspire other companies, individuals, and perhaps even you. And we too will be inspired by someone else.
