TV Gala Evening ROMA SPIRIT ’25

The Association for Culture, Education and Communication (ACEC) in cooperation with Radio and Television of Slovakia and the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Roma Communities of the Slovak Republic held the ROMA SPIRIT 2025 gala evening at the Slovak Radio. Roma Spirit honours individuals, organisations and institutions that have made a long-term contribution to spreading understanding, building respect and supporting Roma communities. The 2025 gala evening continued this tradition with a professionally prepared programme and a technically sophisticated stage, which underlined the excellence of the award-winning personalities and projects.

The main elements of the stage were display media

Brief

The goal was to create a stage that would feel like a modern “gallery of stories” – visually attractive, technologically advanced, and at the same time sensitive to the unique space of Slovak Radio. The brief emphasized a bold yet aesthetically clean stage suitable for television broadcast, a flexible visual setup for different parts of the program, and high-quality sound and lighting for both live guests and television viewers.

Scenic Design

The dominant feature of the gala was a stage built from 17 pieces of display media

  • 6 LED posters
  • 9 LCD screens
  • central LED screen

These were complemented by a separate projection setup illuminating the large musical instrument – the organ – with a light output of 25,000 ANSI lumens .The entire concept was designed to make the space feel like a galleryin which visuals, portraits of nominees, and content for the individual Roma Spirit categories could stand out.

Custom Content

During the musical performances, we were responsible for all visual content displayed on the screens. Visuals were selected or directly created based on each specific song and its theme. For two performances, the content was created entirely using AI. On camera, the result appeared rich and spatial, thanks to the placement of display media at varying depths of the stage and the strong visual presence of the organ in the background
