Live TV broadcast again with the Hurricane team
Saturday evening, March 15, 2025, at the Slovak National Theatre, hosted the 28th annual Crystal Wing Awards. This exceptional event, organized under the patronage of the President of the Slovak Republic, celebrated the achievements of Slovak professionals in culture, science, sports, and philanthropy. The event, which was broadcast live on Jednotka, garnered significant attention not only for its laureates but also for the interesting musical performances by Slovak artists.
Hurricane provided a complete technical solution for the event. The lighting for this prestigious occasion was secured with ROBE lights, specifically the Pointe, Esprite, Spiider, and LED Beam models. These lights feature high-quality light sources and are ideal for camera capture. All lights, including white wash lights, were controlled by the latest MA3 system from a leading German manufacturer. The sound was delivered through Meyer Sound speakers, which standardly provide clear and crisp audio. The focal point of the stage was the LED screens from Gloshine MV 2.6 and Absen A3 Pro, with a total area of nearly 100 m². These screens created a stunning visual impression and enhanced the event's atmosphere. We also created creative visual content displayed on the LED screens during musical and dance performances.
High-end technology and backup systems are the key to success.
The difference between live streaming and recording is clear—there is no room for mistakes in live broadcasting. For this reason, using high-end technology is essential, especially for control elements such as lighting consoles, media servers, or LED processors. All these systems are backed up, meaning that if any component fails, another device automatically takes over to ensure the continuity of sound, lighting, and visuals. These devices are also connected to backup UPS power sources, protecting the control system from power outages.
The short time for technical setup requires an experienced team and meticulously planned logistics: The professional team at Hurricane also deserves attention, functioning as a highly coordinated unit throughout the evening. Team members managed to switch musical instruments and equipment in short timeframes, such as during the display of inserts in the TV broadcast or during the hosts' segments. Everything went smoothly and on time within a few seconds, confirming the flawless performance, high commitment, experience, and professionalism that the Hurricane team brings to every technical realization. The logistical challenge is underscored by the fact that we had less than 24 hours for equipment setup and adjustments.
Hurricane has been providing the technical broadcast for the Crystal Wing since 2017, marking nine consecutive years.
