Harmony of modern technologies and historical scenery of Bratislava Castle

DJ EKG, with his project "Sunset Boulevard," brings an event that combines history, music, and culture of the dance music together. In the premises of Bratislava Castle, we chose to bring a solution with a sensitive approach to stage design – the stage was built mainly around decorations and visual connection with the castle´s environment. Technology was not the dominant element here but rather a tool that enhanced the experience.

From a technological point of view, the key solution was the use of IP65-rated equipment, which is resistant to rain. Thanks to this, we gained complete freedom in designing the stage concept – there was no need to cover or provide additional protective structures for speakers and lights. We know the castle courtyard very well, so for sound reinforcement we used a proven combination of speakers from Meyer Sound. The setup included a Leopard line array system, LFC-1100 and LFC-900 subwoofers. To cover every corner of the courtyard, we used UPQ speakers. The goal of the lighting design was to complement the castle’s architecture in a non-intrusive way and to give the entire party a subtle dynamic. The dynamic element of the lighting setup consisted of Cameo Otos W6 with IP65 protection. These were placed around the DJ stage and among the plant decorations. One of the challenges was illuminating the windows with color without using any cables, which would be visually disruptive and would also require a long installation time. We designed a solution using battery-powered LED tubes from the German manufacturer Astera that come with wireless control. In addition to the windows, we also backlit the walls of the entire courtyard using LED bars by FOS.

In terms of additional services, we designed and implemented the complete electrical installation for all bars and food trucks. Each electrical load was calculated separately to prevent overloading the network and eliminate the risk of power outages during the event. Even in these details, the importance of technical precision was evident for ensuring a smooth event.
