100.Anniversary WSBI – Rome

Our team, Hurricane, became the technical partner and an indispensable part of one of the most prestigious events in the financial sector—the World Savings and Retail Banking Institute (WSBI) congress. On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, a grand event was created in the capital of Italy, Rome. Over three days, we provided technical solutions that met the demanding requirements of international clients and left a strong impression on all participants.

The opening of the event featured discussions among the governors of national banks. Since the congress was held in a hybrid format, our priority was to ensure top-quality visuals for online participants as well. We used robotic PTZ cameras to capture detailed footage of all speakers, along with online simultaneous interpretation into five languages. This allowed us to effectively utilize space and minimize logistical costs while maintaining the highest quality.

The main program took place in the circular-shaped Auditorium della Tecnica. To meticulously plan the stage design, we employed 3D simulations that allowed us to fine-tune each presentation in advance and ensure that visuals would be visible from every seat in the hall. The stage was dominated by a rounded LED screen measuring 20×4.5 meters with a resolution of nearly 8K. We designed a custom stage with a mirrored surface that perfectly mirrored the shape of the screen. Transparent chairs and reflective surfaces created the illusion of even greater space. The area was illuminated with top-notch lighting, predominantly from Robe, highlighting the elegance of the event. During the speech of Italian President Sergio Mattarella, which was also captured by Italian national television, the lighting was adjusted to emphasize every detail. Meyer Sound audio technology ensured clear sound transmission throughout the hall.

The event also featured an extensive multimedia exhibition showcasing 100 years of WSBI history. We produced custom banners depicting this history for the client. Graphics illuminated by thousands of LEDs were combined with touch screens, allowing participants to browse selected historical moments themselves. Ambient lighting enhanced the atmosphere, aesthetically complementing the overall design of the congress.
