Express Street Party 26′

The energy of open-air events from a mobile concert stage

During the Expres Párty event, Kežmarok’s main square was transformed into a large urban music zone. What serves as the town’s natural centre for most of the year became, for a few hours, a place for socialising, music and shared experiences. Bands and DJs took turns on stage throughout the evening, and the programme culminated in a performance by DJ YAEL.

A lorry that brings the experience right into the city centre

The uniqueness of the project lies in its mobility. The stage is not built as a permanent structure or as a large-scale concert venue. The event is based around a convertible lorry which, upon arrival at the venue, transforms into a fully-fledged concert stage. The mobile stage itself, however, arrives without technical equipment. The Hurricane team’s task was to equip it with sound, lighting and technical facilities, enabling a venue to be set up in a short space of time, ready to host a music programme lasting several hours and welcoming thousands of visitors.

It is precisely this format that allows the atmosphere of a major music event to be brought right into the city centre. The historic square does not merely serve as a backdrop, but becomes a natural part of the experience. The programme, the audience and the venue itself form a single whole, in which the boundary between the stage and the city disappears for a few hours.

Technology in the service of the atmosphere

The aim of the technical solution was to ensure that the music programme sounded just as good beneath the stage as it did across the entire square. Sound coverage was provided by a Meyer Sound Leopard system, supplemented by Meyer Sound 900-LFC subwoofers. The atmosphere of each performance was enhanced by a lighting design utilising Cameo OTOS, Robe Pointe, Robe Spider and ADJ Jolt lights.

The mobile stage formed the basis of the entire event, but it was the combination of sound, lighting and technical support that enabled it to realise the full potential of the music event. The aim was not to draw attention to the technology itself, but to enhance the energy of the programme and create an atmosphere in which the historic city centre was transformed into a vibrant music venue for one evening.
